Sri Vimalananda Giri Swamy

Krishna Charan was one of the young disciples of Sri Malayala Swamy. He did intense penance for 12 years and had immense devotion for the Guru – personification of ‘Guru Bhakti’. He was taking care of Malaya Swamy in the hospital when he was unwell. But Malaya Swamy asked him to go to Benares to pursue his advanced studies, hence he couldn’t be with the Guru when he attained Samadhi on 12th July 1962.  After the demise of Malayala Swamy, Krishna Charan was brought to Yerpedu in the airplane from Benares by the other devotees. He was declared as the peetadhipathi (the Head of the Order) of Sri Vyasashram on the night of 12th Jul 1962 as per the will of Malayalaswami registered on 24th April 1962. Few days after 12th July he took renunciation under the name of Sri Vimalananda Swamy and became the Peetadhipathi of yasaashram. He served the ashram until his death in January 1973.

He wrote ‘Sri Malayala Sadguru Suprabhatam’, Naa Gurudevudu’ (My Master), Devi Strotrani, Sri Malayalaswamulavari mahimashtotramu and other books. He was responsible for the construction of the magnificent and prestigious ‘Adhisthana Mandiram’ in which the marble statue of Sri Malayalaswami was installed in 1972. He toured extensively all over Andhra Pradesh and Telengana to spread the spiritual knowledge.
